Atolls and Corals
I’m fascinated by schools of fish free flowing in the ocean; parading here and there, in, out, and around corals, completely carefree and absolute wanderers. They have no leader and each one intuitively follows one another without question nor doubt. Observing these fish, I can’t help but think, is an organism only possible by smaller elements together to form one larger one? Or, do all of these organisms have some kind of common thread and connected minds? In this series, I built large organic shapes out of smaller ones and I used hollow spaces to define and pop out floating parts to create illusive pieces.
